I graduated with a Diploma in Yoga from Wellpark College.
I decided to study yoga because I had been a English language and high school teacher in the past but was looking for something else to teach that resonated on a deeper level within myself, something I could be really passionate about, and allow me to connect with a wider range of people in society.
What drew me to Wellpark College is what I had heard from others, and received first hand, of the amazing yoga teacher training the college offered. Not only is it an authentically balanced approach to Integrated yoga as a whole, but the learning in anatomy and physiology, Ayurveda, and yoga philosophy immensely enriched the yoga poses and practices we learnt ‘on the mat’.
Upon graduating with my yoga certification, I received an employment offer via Wellpark College to take over some Yoga and Pilates classes at YMCA gyms around Auckland and am now instructing 6 classes a week at YMCA and Justworkout gyms, as well as my own private class in Grey Lynn. On top of this, Wellpark’s traditional ‘8-limbs’ approach to yoga teaching training has allowed me and my fellow graduating classmates to start a new business, the Yoga Talent Agency, offering the service ‘Yog@work’; with the mission to take the unique wellbeing and stress-relieving benefits of Yoga postures, breath awareness, and meditation techniques out of countryside ashrams and weekend retreats and into businesses and workplaces around the Auckland region- perhaps where it’s needed most!
Quite simply, the yoga instructor training course at Wellpark has changed my life altogether in the most positive and transformative way possible. My gratitude, blessings and respect to all students, affiliates, and staff members of the College. Namaste!
