Dalai Lama Visiting New Zealand December 2009

For his first visit since 2007, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso of Tibet will visit New Zealand during December 2009.
Both head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet, the Dalai Lama will give a Public Talk in Auckland on Sunday December
6th at the Vector Arena and Buddhist Teachings at the same venue on
Monday December 7th at the invitation of the Tibetan Buddhist community
of New Zealand.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. He has travelled to more than 62 countries spanning 6 continents and became the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for global environmental problems. He has also authored more than 72 books and since 1959 His Holiness has received over 84 awards, honorary
doctorates and prizes in recognition of his message of peace,
non-violence, inter-religious understanding, universal responsibility
and compassion.
