Why Wellpark?

Wellpark College is New Zealand’s leading natural therapies tertiary provider, successfully educating more than 1600 students since establishing in 1990 in the tree-lined streets of Grey Lynn, Auckland. More than 75% of our enrolments are word of mouth recommendations from those who have already enjoyed the Wellpark learning experience. Nearly 80% of all students successfully complete their studies and qualifications with more than 75% transitioning into health and wellbeing industries on completion.

At Wellpark we pride ourselves on our excellent academic standards. Our tutors are considered leaders in their field, and successfully serve as practitioners, industry representatives, media spokespeople and international speakers. Recent academic recognition includes two awards from the New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers (NZAPEP): the ‘Tutor Of The Year Award’ to Dr Pooja Maddela, and the ‘Margaret Yates Scholarship To Support Academic And Research Study’ to Dr Ramaprabhu Vempati.

Faculty staff are consistently sourced for wellbeing media commentary throughout Australasia and beyond. Senior Wellpark College tutor Kate Robertson is an NZ Society of Cosmetic Chemists member and consultant to cosmetic manufacturers and retailers and previously featured in episodes of TV3 Whats Really In Our ...soaps and moisturisers. Head of faculty Vijay Murthy and students were recently featured on national radio discussing the benefits of Ayurveda

Aromatherapy, native plants and the fate of traditional medicine were discussed at the Pacifi Cook Island Health Conference featuring Wellpark keynote speaker Barbara Allpress. Aromatherapy and the science of smell were discussed on breakfast televsion with senior tutor sharon Erdrich.


Cross-pollination

As New Zealand’s largest natural therapies tertiary education provider, we also offer the widest range of programmes of any natural therapies institution in New Zealand. Equal in scope to those of leading Australian colleges, Wellpark College also introduced New Zealand’s first Bachelor of Naturopathy programme in 2010, and is the only tertiary provider NZQA accredited and approved for government funding to offer a Diploma of Yoga. Our Diploma of Nutrition is the only qualification in New Zealand offering a large component of clinical practice experience and our Ayurvedic programme is internationally recognised for its uniquely comprehensive curriculum.

Independent Evaluation

Conducted and undertaken for New Zealand Qualiifcations Authority, the recent independent “External Evaluation and Review Report” (EER) of Wellpark College indicated NZQA was highly confident of our performance and capability. The report assesses the quality of our programmes to ensure students can be confident when choosing tertiary providors.
