Special Relationship with Ngati Whatua Nga Rima O Kaipara

Wellpark College, The Prema Trust and Kawai Purapura (Wellpark – North Shore) have a working relationship with Ngati Whatua Nga Rima o Kapiara, within whose rohe (area) our activities take place.

The Prema Trust and Wellpark College acknowledge and foster the partnership with Manawhenua iwi  - Ngati Whatua through the nga marae e rima, represented by Ngati Whatua Nga Rima o Kaipara.

We are indebted to Ngati Whatua Nga Rima o Kaipara for the ongoing support and assistance in ensuring that our activities are consistent with the common values, principles and understanding we share, particularly in terms of environmental and health issues.

This partnership will work towards the development of educational, social and research programmes that foster understanding, greater health for all members of society and greater opportunities for Maori students from Ngati Whatua o Kaipara and other taurahere Maori residents within Tamaki Makaurau.

The partnership is anchored by the whenua (land) at Kawai Purapura and there is an evolving partnership growing out of that shared experience.

Ngati Whatua Nga Rima o Kapiara and the Prema Trust are working towards the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding to guide the relationship.
